Among all the tech products you use, the ones you should have the most stringent quality standards for are recommender systems. Outright disable any recommender system you are not entirely happy with (or stop using the app if it can't be disabled).
A chronological timeline, or even *no* timeline, is better than one that's polluted with sensationalism or misleading information. Less time wasted, better focus.
E.g. I disable the Twitter algorithmic timeline and the Discover feed in Android, among others. The things you *don't* use are as important as the things you do use. Information consumption should be deliberate.
