A chronological timeline, or even *no* timeline, is better than one that's polluted with sensationalism or misleading information. Less time wasted, better focus.

E.g. I disable the Twitter algorithmic timeline and the Discover feed in Android, among others. The things you *don't* use are as important as the things you do use. Information consumption should be deliberate.

Can we have a totally unbiased recommender system?
-
Almost a nonsensical question. Recommendations are made based on the design of the algorithm making the recommendations. I also don't think they necessarily have to be bad, but existing business models tend to push them rapidly in that direction.

I loved the YouTube app but I stopped using it after they wouldn't stop showing Shorts to me. They should really consider a toggle off for Shorts!
-
The problem is if you toggle 'shorts' they will start showing 'spoons' or random shit based on something you clicked by mistake! We need a button 'no more suggestions'

Recommender system, "because 1 MILLION followers of Kim Kardashian bought A with B therefore you should buy B too."
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@SoundCloud has an awful recommender system. It gets stuck in a loop and plays the same songs. It'll take me from one genre or jam to some crap. Then I'll be stuck in crap. Then I have to go to the front page and select some other "sounds like". The whole genre selection is crap. -
@SCsupport@SoundCloudDev@SoundCloudJobs you need a better recommender your system and also a downvote. If I don't want to hear a song I should be able to block it definitely, along with artist and anything that sounds like that. I want a no rap option!
