        one of saddest things to happen to SF is shutting down of bookstores. After one of my favorite ones got shut down I stopped visiting that neighborhood.

        Even NYC probably has 1/20th the bookstore density it did when I arrived in ‘95. Unfortunately you may need a new yardstick.
