Esp. because ML projects have game-like iterations as you slowly figure out your data pipeline, start to get positive results, search for optimal model/params, “grind” through a multi day train, etc
-
Lots of inspiration for faster data checking interfaces could be got from games. Repetitive work tasks could also benefit from different types of visual filters to highlight different types of content elements & to make readability easier when people have long screen sessions.

Better user interface with a game-inspired mechanics would largely mean splitting core tasks to patterns that can be easily combined to new patterns. Think about keyboard/controller combos of old gaming console type of games. Those focus on a simplified input methods, for speed.

While there are lots of upsides from the visual programming environments such as Scratch, the downside of controller block overflow can be real issue (when there are too much different types of elements). Would also be good to have different output methods such as audio.

I’ve thought about that too and also a knowledge base that functioned that way. Code factories as factories, Roman rooms for mnemonics, etc. I think it could also be a good use of WebGL.

You can only unlock more advanced functions once you’ve mastered easier functions. Test on real problem sets. Make some variables accessible at the next level only if you passed a certain set of progressive scores on the lower level. Applies to APIs etc too.

Test driven development feels like a game where you have to get the percentages of passed tests to 100%

I always wondered, why i loved chess in my childhood. Played decades and still online. It is the simple rule set in 6 different pieces each sides, which grow into different outcomes towards Shannon's or Hardys Number (10^120, 10^10^50). It was the other player, the ELO + game.
