Imagine if SF had this mindset circa 1920. What kind of city would it be today? Well, the 2020s are no different.

As a Seattleite, I love this, however, the rampant NIMBYism in Seattle is quite bad too. Work in progress. I think it can be fixed before it gets as bad as SF.

The speed and scale at which Seattle is developing is amazing (though it could be even better). And that includes public transportation!

I loved living in San Francisco, *and* I’m glad we left in 2000… it is sad to see what has become of previously cheap-living areas (like the Mission) since then. a great city needs places for in-migrants from all income brackets in order to be a vibrant place & to stay fresh.

Seattle is basically a cleaner crisper San Francisco. More like how SF was when I was a kid

I hope to live in all three at some point but I keep hearing stuff like this about SF which is disappointing.

Does this make Vancouver the SF rather than the Seattle of Canada? The NIMBY tendency and upward pressure on housing prices are intense here. As is the inflated self perception of being a world city.

Lived in NYC, SF, Bay Area and Seattle. Each was a great experience but never again. Too much traffic.

Seattle has some intense zoning and car-first mentality issues that are really unfortunate in such a critical point in its growth
