The race: will AI handwriting recognition get good enough before everybody stops handwriting? I'm kidding — I don't see it vanishing — but its use is narrowing. I never write by hand anymore, but even when I did a lot (taking notes in 1990s) mine was a near-illegible scrawl.

I can’t read my old reporter notebooks. I always preferred to do interviews by phone bc I can type at the speed of almost any speaker

Yes, but you'll need to couple it with an object detection model to extract areas that include text
