I believe you should leverage data in your decision-making as much as possible. But making data a requirement for every decision is both unrealistic and counter-productive.

Numbers will only help you if you're already asking the right questions and have already collected the right information. Most important decisions aren't like that.

In reverse, beware of showing shoddy data (low sample size, biased...) to shore up bad choices. No data (which forces you to think about the problem for yourself) is often better than bad data (which points in the wrong direction).
