  And for some stupid reason they turn off the backlight so you have to wake it up to use it. The latency on mute is so terrible you end up pressing it five times before you get it set correctly.

  Lenovo x1 carbon gen 3 did something similar and got a function key Touch Bar rather than buttons. They did listen to user feedback and never went back starting gen 4.
