        I believe that's the inner logic of achievement: something is inherently hard/rare because most people decided not to pursue it and chose to do something else. In a lot of fields it pays to do what everyone else hates doing.

        I thought magic tricks were based on deceiving the audience into thinking you're doing the impossible, but I see the parallels to AI hype here.

        Nobody would disagree with that. I would humbly add that after having a certain basic aptitude in a certain domain, your statement applies. I think while it may be possible without it in rare cases, but it much easier to do this in something where one has natural aptitude .
