Social media mobs are everywhere these days. I want to tell you: there is *no* context where joining a mob to dogpile on someone with your own insults is a good idea. So don't do it.

Lastly, personal attacks aren't the right way to further the goals you believe in. I get it, you feel pressure to weigh in lest you be perceived as being on the wrong side of the controversy of the day, and you want to show off your first-rate snark to your peers. Still, don't.

If you feel angry and you want to say something, then say something positive about what you believe in. Instead of quote-tweeting the bad guy, promote someone who deserves it. Go make someone's day. The dogpile doesn't need you.

I got blocked for NOT piling on. Tried to bring some reason in some debate (it looked minor and between, well, reasonable people). Got attacked from both parts. Hehe, learned my lesson. Everything is BIG on twitter.

The blocking is part of their strategy, to prevent rebuttles in their attacks. That way, when someone new comes on subsequent tweets, there doesn’t appear to be any pushback or challenge to their agenda. Turns it into an echo chamber.
@Twitter really needs to fix/help this

This happened to me once. It was actually kind of funny after the initial "OMG who are all these people"
But its also strange to me that sometimes there are these arbitrary massive positive responses to people who are popular. Just because they are popular Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
