New ideas are hard to make. I get worried people won't be able to make new things as most modern advanced concepts are so abstracted away. How would you understand them ever.

Perhaps. I had the same feeling reading E. Erikssons stages of development. Basically just observations without any explanation. However as a guidance for what to expect from children at certain ages it is useful. That said - I prefer a good explanation.

Nicely put. That's why there's so much value in physics and all the great names that built it. I was drawn to the world of modeling with the Navier-Stokes equations. If I could actually simulate fluid flow and capture real world phenomena, I was sure i was understanding it.
