So a successful society or organization is one that lets people follow their passions and their ambitions, and rewards them for doing so, rather than bully them back into mediocrity and normality. Foster and leverage people's own drive. For the most part, that's the big secret.
That may seem somewhat obvious, yet... it seems rare in practice. In particular, this applies to schooling & education, yet most school systems seem to be built exactly in reverse, targeting mass-produced mediocrity, and punishing personal ambition and achievement.
Perhaps a more dynamic environment, where people are allowed to incorporate some free will into their daily work routine. Several options that are equally productive for the org with adjustable short term pay scales for tasks of higher priority?

I would not restrict this to the education system. We need universal base income and let people work on what drive them.
