I think the initial stages of understanding a discipline (programming, math, etc) can be frustrating and one shouldn't be discouraged because it's not immediately fun. The fun comes later when you become comfortable using the tools.

Truly agree with you, but it mostly depends on the environment where we operate. It becomes less fun in highly competitive and little cooperatives working groups. I like to call them ’The Hunger Works’.
