By that logic, a piece of paper is not an object either. Its a medium of expression. And I agree. Art can be done with a simple piece of paper, even alone, or if you want, a pencil and a paper.

That is why dishwashers are complicated and software is complex. It doesn't leave the factory floor. (Some gets firmware updates) With software there are not many limits apart from your budget for compute and human ingenuity.
