    One of the most ridiculous things I've ever witnessed was some guy -- i think this was at NeurIPS -- talking as if he had singlehandedly invented modern AI. A 70 year old field built by literally hundreds of thousands of extremely smart people

        From my experience, exaggerating accomplishments is the biggest red flag for a candidate for a technical role. They’ll just end up trying to take credit for things and never do any work of their own.
