Pressing up until you find what you want is a system 1 task. The brain will prefer this over a system 2 task even if the system 2 task could do it quicker, because we hate system 2. System 2 is work if System 1 can do it.

In my experience, this is true while you are learning the command, but after a few hundred times, typing the command becomes System 1 too.
