When I set out to write the 2nd edition of Deep Learning with Python, I thought it would be roughly the same length, and about 50% new content. Now that the draft is done: it's almost 2x longer and it's ~75% new content. Overall it's a lot more in-depth than the first edition.

Aw, that's a pity! Object detection & instance segmentation models have a lot of moving parts and weird tricks. It would have been really interesting to read your take on the topic!

Amazing book François! I have been reading the MEAP version of your book. I was hoping when ch9 came out it would address object detection from your perspective. Any reading/course recommendations for implementing object detection in TF/Keras?
