Technologists shouldn't just make things possible. They should make them simple. In many ways it's far more difficult. To something possible you just need to be clever. To make it simple you need vision. Intelligence is common, vision is rare.

This is probably my biggest takeaway from my time in the tech industry. There are lots of smart people out there who can make almost anything possible. But very few people can make something simple.

Way too complicated. Once you understand how it all works, you laugh at how stupid complicated it is for what you’re trying to accomplish. Primary cause: Too many options.

100% agree. Push towards simplicity, and away from complexity. Somehow as an industry, we forgot that abstraction layers were supposed to make things simple, instead they all bring another layer of complexity.
