Twitter replaced personal blogging b/c: 1. Most blogs don't deserve to make $/not the point 2. Hosting is actually a PITA 3. Reach is hard (impossible?) for most 4. Brevity best for takes 5. FB assumed (correctly) the normals don't want to share ideas at scale (we're not normal)
Social networks will come and go, but I expect Twitter will endure in the long term, because it's pretty close to the final form of the Internet -- a real time feed of pure information / noise

Twitter is the only social media cockroach company they are not going anywhere. I've close to 1M+ posts on forums since the 90s and am actually quite confident we will die Tweeting.

Twitter has all the addictive qualities of a slot machine, where it seems I am endlessly scrolling for a mentally rewarding morsel given at random intervals (dopamine hits).
