I dont get why NFT are a problem as in, it is still free for everyone to see right?
A downside of NFTs, for me: I've had to unfollow various artists who went from posting cool art & thought-provoking tweets to nonstop pumping NFTs. Wish we could just buy subscriptions to an artist's feed so they could get revenue without having to resort to pump & dump schemes

It's somewhere between a Ponzi scheme and tax avoidance, with a side of massive amounts of computation for nothing. Mostly, it hurts to see otherwise sensible and interesting people being suckered into this.

Same, but it does highlight how many extremely talented people struggle to make a decent living from their work, which in many ways is not that different from what highly paid tech workers do from day to day
