My read of this argument is: Chollet claims that we know intelligence works a certain way & therefore some things, such as explosions, aren’t possible. Yudkowsky claims we don’t know how intelligence works & therefore can’t be sure. It’s more modest & by default more believable.
We don't know for sure where the universe comes from. Therefore it is more modest and by default more plausible to accept that the Great Spaghetti Monster may have created it.
