This is why I take a paragraph to explain what a variable does, then re.sub('\s','_') and use that as the variable name.

I had a colleague who gave cartoon characters names to his variables. With a number at the end. That he incremented from time to time for a new variable. And used the same logic for variables in other functions, but of course for unrelated function-specific variables. a nightmare
