So apparently a PyTorch dev has created (+ regularly updated for half a year) a "parody" account to attack me. I assume this is done by the same people who send me anonymous emails of insults on a regular basis, and who create sockpuppet accounts to bash me on Reddit etc.pic.twitter.com/mBgSlzw5NS

There are a couple of accounts like that attacking me. Tech twitter is high school and some people will be 14 for the rest of their lives.

It's sad. One thing I've found out is that "anonymous" attacks are often not from "randos", but from folks who have a specific reason to hide their affiliation / identity.

What have you learned dealing with this since 2017, and what strategies or methods have you come up with, if any?

Sorry, the question is for both of you, but @fchollet since 2017 it appears.

I don't think there's anything we can do about it, unfortunately.

I don't necessarily mean in the physical/virtual world, but even subtle changes in the way you think about this, and how that has evolved over time, given that you seem to have dealt with many instances.

My tweet above is my main conclusion: these attacks may at first seem like they come from many different random faceless people, but in fact they come from a very small number of very motivated people using anonymity as a shield and a multiplier
