Pretty sure that was the plot of an episode of Black Mirror. It would be a terrifying weapon spelling the end of privacy. It would also turn lucid dreamers into ruthlessly efficient deepfake machines.

Fascinating thought, but can’t imagine how to really retrieve all the perception from dreams to create the dataset. I sometimes have dreams that feel more real than real life. If any of it can be retrieved it’s a bigger breakthrough than the artificial NNs now
Wim Wenders made a movie about that. (UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD) It wasn't optimistic about the effects of being able to watch your dreams in the daytime.
