depends on the gestation period of projects in that particular domain; also real breakthroughs happen at cusps of knowledge and ignorance which is not a quick process.

Sensitivity vs specificity can be applied to almost everything in life, not only to Machine Learning. And this is a clear example.

Sometimes when I'm stuck on a project I use a custom version of @thecodingtrain 's contribution wheel to select another one of my projects at random, not to stay stuck too long on the same.
