In my opinion, personal attacks are never acceptable in a professional environment (or anywhere, but that's a separate question). Doing your job must start from the assumption that your colleagues share the same top-level goals and only disagree about how to achieve them

Basically, if someone is a member of your team, start from the assumption that you're... on the same team. If it turns out you're not on the same team in principle, then this should be reflected in practice, too.

Agreed! Someone needed to say this. We don't have to start villainizing everyone who disagrees with us or we will forever be fighting. If you feel your colleagues are morally corrupt, why would you be upset to get away from them?

Everyone agrees with that statement, this is what an idealistic point of view provides. Near universal consensus on rather straightforward ideas. The problem of course is that in order for these statements to have any validity in real life, the landscape has to be even, 1/2

there needs to be equity and parity, justice and inclusivity. Without all that, these statements are in my opinion almost void. People who fight for all that by the way are in their vast majority respectful and honest. That's why the fight.

And even if they do disagree, the mode of communication and resolution of this (natural disagreement) should be in the form of meaningful and sane discussion, and shouldn't be done cliquish, alienating or belittling tones - which sets the stage for an erosion of trust.

The reality is in the corporate world, personal attacks go on unpunished, if that's for some reason convenient to some higher up. It's all about power and no ethics. It has been so for a long time and thanks to the current political decadence, it's getting worse real fast. 3/
