The Vikings caused most of Northwestern Europe to retreat inland and away from rivers for two centuries. The Barbary Pirates enslaved over one million people and caused the abandonment of hundreds of coastal villages in Spain and Italy.

It has to be the Sea Peoples. The Vikings have gotten a ton of Hollywood coverage, but the Sea Peoples destroyed the Hittites. The Vikings couldn’t even destroy the English (they were actually the force that allowed Edward to create “England” from 4 separate countries).

The Sea Peoples easily. Wiped out entire civilizations, changed the history of the Mediterranean, and we know almost nothing about them, besides they kicked everyone's asses.
