I got my engineering degree from a very old military school, headed by a 4-star general. I work in Silicon Valley, which sprouted from the US military-industrial complex. Half of the techs I use in any given day have a military origin -- most prominently computers & the Internet.

Feels like we still need to account for the creative energy somehow. Perhaps it's about framing, i.e. everything we do is "The war on X". Initially, SV narrative was "war on inefficiency" and it went downhill from there..

All we need to come together is a shared enemy! Russians or entropy

If we actually made entropy our enemy we would likely save the world as a result. Communications theory described how to live with it, Information theory related to Cybernetics described how to remove it. Mostly Politics and Economics describes how to generate and manipulate it.

kitab el manziri , Euler, Gauss , Newton , Fraunhofer ... Technology is driven by Talent. I respect what Andrew, Jeff, Geoffrey, Yann , Sebastian, Ilya, D. Silver and you did. This is not at the same level of Peter Lax, Mandelbrot, Tao

That’s not true. The industrial revolution happened independent of war. The built in of canals, trains, cars, airplanes, chemical and bio technological revolutions happened independent of wars.
