It sows the seed that this election was rigged, so that resentment can build and metastasize, so that opposite-direction rigging is OK next time to "correct" the bias.
It won't work... this time. But the effort isn't wasted: autocracy is a long-term project, you need to get started early.

This was the nmap scan. Trump is the decoy that does the social engineering. The next time around you'll get someone who could also *almost* do it, just on technical merits. But they won't just have the technical merits, they'll know what will work and what won't.

I’m still not sure that it won’t work. We think it’s too obvious and dumb to work, but we also thought Trump was too obviously dumb to win in 2016. I’m not celebrating until Trump officially loses his powers.
