These high numbers mean higher infections, higher deaths :-(. This week we got two warnings near us, we haven’t had one warning in like a month before that.
108,389 new Covid cases in the US today, highest number so far. I worry about the November - February period. The peak is still to come.

We are going to hit 500k/day by the peak. And the disturbing reality is that most people were more freaked out in March about it than now despite the cold hard numbers. Normalization can distort even the most distressing information.

Or death rates are much lower now than they were during March’s peak, and we have a clearer and more complete picture of covid’s fatality rates among different age groups. We’re also better at treating it.

Pretty much all of Europe (including my country) is in some sort of lockdown to get the numbers down. Companies receive support so they can keep their employees. We obviously suck compared to Asia but the US seem worse. I hope appearances are deceiving. Winter will be hard...

We did well in Victoria, Australia. Economy is bouncing back, people are mostly happy and carrying on the usual. I fear the impact of so many dead and disabled that i see in the us and Europe, on their economy and the global economy.
