Art represents a remarkable form of leverage over reality. An artist recording a piece of music once may be influencing countless people, years into the future. 230y after his death, Mozart still creates beauty & emotion in the minds of more ppl than lived in Europe in his time.

"Leverage over reality." What a brilliant phrase.

An echo of the nature of the universe itself: Reality as a mixture of repetition and variation.

Other than art and code are there any other forms of leverage you would encourage your kids to be of service through?

Not many degrees of freedom in that leverage, as people will only seek the art that resonates with them

Yes, I find that art with universal appeal has a very profound influence on humanity as a whole. The way universal art can move people and change their mood/perspective in both destructive and constructive ways is quite fascinating.

Furthermore, this changed mood and perspective of individuals causes their thoughts and actions in turn to change. To some extent, I hypothesize that influencing culture(s) via compelling art/storytelling is more effectual to social change than politics in the modern world.
