Yes, I find that art with universal appeal has a very profound influence on humanity as a whole. The way universal art can move people and change their mood/perspective in both destructive and constructive ways is quite fascinating.

Furthermore, this changed mood and perspective of individuals causes their thoughts and actions in turn to change. To some extent, I hypothesize that influencing culture(s) via compelling art/storytelling is more effectual to social change than politics in the modern world.
