Agree that elevating a legal document into a sacred text isn't healthy. In this case, it's equivalent to saying "our institutions are perfect as is & should never be reexamined". Anyway, a constitution is simply a legal document that describes how your government works. It's not the holy scripture. You can modify it, and if you need to modify it a lot, you can rewrite it. It's not sacrilege. And occasionally it's necessary.
