The reasoning is "he will hurt those guys we hate, and he won't hurt us (too badly)". The inevitable, sad follow-up: "he's not hurting the people he was supposed to be hurting! Get it off me!!"

There appears to be a pretty significant segment of Trump supporters who will vote for him not because they like him, but because "he makes the libs mad". Trump as a WMD in a made-up culture war. This is akin to setting your apartment building on fire to piss off your neighbors.

Love your neighbor as yourself. Act out of hope, not spite. I don't think anyone out there is choosing Biden to spite Trump supporters.
