Folks leaving SF because there's no point in staying there while working from home are entirely right. Yet, the take "cities are over" is greatly exaggerated. Cities will be booming again in a few years. Urban living remains the future, even in an age of increasingly remote work

IMO, SF could use a lot more diverse problem solving. Diversity of thought comes with hiring people who aren't just located in SF. Many people don't want to relocate there, so SF is missing on an untapped resource.

SF is full of people who got rich in tech and sank their entire net worth into a mediocre property and can't afford any "change in character" of the city that might cause property values to decrease for any reason. The result is that it's impossible to develop anything new.
