Beyond the platitudes, it’s quite simple. Quit consuming excessive amounts of energy. Don’t buy that 2.5-tonne SUV. Stop eating 10x as much beef as your body needs. Recycle as much as possible. Don’t use energy-intensive materials.

NOT doing things is perhaps just as important, and likely far more effective in the short run, as DOING things. Debates on changing global energy sources might be philosophically stimulating, but starting with eating less beef is far more actionable.

Shifting public opinion on nuclear as a solution would certainly be a positive contribution. Seems like a more educated public with better risk assessment skills is a pre-req, tho.

What I’m personally doing? Not breeding. Haha, but within my role as an electrical engineer? Probably focusing on waste in trying to minimize wasted energy consumption during low power modes. It’s amazing how much energy is wasted due to lazy engineering.

IMO, we need an AI which is capable of calculating a different kind of price tag on all stuff: sustainability price (planetary debt) instead of just the dollar price (monetary debt, i.e. a human contract).
