We need to be much bolder in our plans to tackle climate change and improve living conditions for people everywhere this century. Climate change is the challenge of our time and we must rise up to it, with ambition and optimism

I encourage every engineer and scientist reading this to think about concrete ways in which your career intersects with the global effort to tackle climate change. What are you going to do? What's the most you could do?

I tend to agree too. Do you think economic inequality or drowning in (online) information overload are as severe or even more urgent problems?

I have thought about it a great deal, and working on information theory climate change is not borne out. View the regular situation as a signal, and the aberrations as noise. Prof Judith Curry does this, and do does Freeman Dyson.

Freeman Dyson wrote a fascinating article reviewing Gleick's book on information theory. So he's somewhat of an expert in it. Of course I remain a non-climate scientist, and intofmration theory just happened to come my way working on a linguistics problem.

But I think I have met my "social responsibity" quota spending several days looking into information theory and what it says about anthropogenic global warming.

I think your 'social responsibility' is to actually challenge your opinion, not to just look for any evidence you can supporting it. Freeman Dyson was a great physicist, but he penned most of his climate criticisms when he was over 80. They have significant, but debatable flaws.

"We" as being used does not include the mass majority of the people as participants but as subjects of big club that knows they cannot do it. So depopulation is the Agenda 21, Agenda 2030, & token Georgia Guide Stones. Guess how it is (in your face) being implemented.
