Disinformation will always be present as long as humans are present. We have to think about techniques that can separate truth from lies. Our assumption to trust the training data is wrong.
It's a lot more complicated than truth vs lies: some people refuse to believe the truth. It's more about how information is spread, regulated and controlled.

“Fixing” disinformation requires general intelligence (and not necessarily of the artificial kind). Narrow AI can actually make disinformation worse. Most AI models are incapable of dealing with heavy tailed non-stationary processes. It’s not just a technological issue 
We don't need fixes to combat fake news,we need fixes that transform our minds and make us look at the world a bit more with skepticism rather than simply believing what someone has to say. Fake news is just a symptom but not the disease. The disease is ignorance and blind belief
