Europe is so much stronger in their appreciation for and insistence upon urban green spaces. They knew this stuff 500 years ago, wish US cities would do the same beyond dressed up greenways and tiny triangle parks.
Awareness of the importance of public parks in cities only started in the mid 19th century. London parks served as the model for those in Paris

Apology for the lack of historical accuracy! Having spent a lot of time there I do believe they do a much better job of integrating large public parks, but wasn’t aware it was that new of an urban phenomena.
