  Some of the most educated people I know (at least in the engineering sense) are raging bigots. I think we need to inculcate humanity. Education in the arts is one component, but I am not sure it’s sufficient.

  Problem is that education-resistant folks are perhaps even more resistant to moral, etc. education then reading, writing, and 'rithmetic. Educating the Tump (and Brexit) base is perhaps our largest challenge.
