It's just standard projection. Their main motivation for another Trump presidency is to inflict maximum suffering on immigrants and minorities, so naturally they expect the other side to want to do the same to them, not realizing how batshit crazy that sounds

We're fundamentally just never going to understand each other. Liberals don't understand how a human can entirely lack empathy and GOP doesn't understand how we care about what happens to people other than ourselves and people like us.

It's not that simple. I'm not conservative, but one of my best friends is an affluent, white, male, conservative Christian (very religious) Trump supporter. I'd say he's incredibly empathetic, otherwise he wouldn't be one of my best friends. Most of my friends are liberal though

Actually, the point of another term is twofold. 1) to avoid going to jail, and more importantly 2) to wreak as much chaos and division as possible so we don’t focus on him and his buddies turning this country into a kleptocracy. He’s mimicking Erdogan & Putin. No joke.
