The gravity of the epidemic situation in the US can't be overstated. Exponential growth is resuming. We're going to need a serious policy chance. The good news: dozens of countries have been able to stop COVID -- we know what works. We can just do it. Too bad we didn't in March.

It was very puzzling to see the US implement a weak lockdown that caused economic damage without playing its intended role. Instead of cases dropping, we got a plateau, then a restart of exponential growth as soon as reopening started. And still no plan, half a year in
