As much as I loathe this administration and this policy I can’t help but feel this is good for Canada. The next google / fb / Apple will be Canadian. University applications are at an all time high. The American dream isn’t dead it’s just moving up to the True North.
The chances it’s not already game over, no matter what happens in November, are very slim.
The thing is, Trump has stood up to Russia and China more than any recent president has done, which are by far the more pressing global issues. Would I have preferred and more elegant and eloquent president to have done that? Yes. But on global issues I think he's been bang on.
Also trying to pressure European countries to honour their NATO commitments on spending - too right! If you actually ignore the 'orange man bad' hysteria then a lot of the policy has actually been right.
China's economy will be surpass the US' by 2035. It's already over.
I guess when it will backfire they will come up with silly excuses like pretending they were promoting remote work
