Extremely stupid & cruel move by an extremely stupid & cruel administration. Not only will this upend the lives and careers of tens of thousands of students and tech workers, it will also deal a considerable blow to America's competitiveness and long-term prosperity. A disaster.https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1275155422551379968 …

Breaking News: President Trump will sign an executive order suspending foreign work visas, barring hundreds of thousands of people from coming to work in the U.S. The move includes the H-1B program for high-skilled workers and several other categories. https://nyti.ms/3hRwUQI

The damage done over the past 4 years will take 20 years to repair. And if he wins again in November thanks to the Facebook & Fox News propaganda machine, it's effectively game over for America.

Or, US corps could pay taxes and invest in the education of a domestic workforce. As is, US corps get to leverage other govts investment in their citizens' education. Meanwhile, Americans drown in debt, can't afford higher ed degrees demanded by tech.

Wishful thinking. Corporations think mostly about next year's revenue, not educating people for 17 years that might decide to work for their competitors.
