The good news: got to retweet the profile of lots of amazing folks doing great work The bad news: apparently there are lots of dudes on Twitter who get extremely angry at the idea of underrepresented folks in ML/DS getting a tiny sliver of extra exposure It has been eye-opening

All true, but this is a grey area - affirmative action can easily turn into devaluation of the accomplishment. I can always tell when I'm getting recognition as a 'woman in AI' and when it's genuine praise. At some point the extra bonus points will have to end.

Why to create bias in whatever world people try to be or not . It's individual's choice .people work hard and reach to their career .there should not be any favouritism

If you have to ensure your parents have enough food, rent money for next month, you're less likely to be able to focus on work. And its more than that. Its difficult to afford a masters... Spare 3-5 years for a PhD... You can "work harder" and still end up worse.
