One thing I miss with remote working is the ability to brainstorm design ideas with others on a whiteboard. Best way to combine the expertise of different people in a creative, open-ended way

What about doing the same with video + a shared doc? Probably not the same "feeling" but I feel it is close enough.

Yeah. Or in our case chilling on the couch envisioning what to do next. The mind doesn't seem as creative in video :)

What about Miro? (Old RealTimeBoard) You can upload images and documents also, not just drawing.

I had to teach someone graph searching algorithms via video chat. I ended up using Jamboard on my iPad with my Apple Pencil. It was not the same as whiteboarding, but it came pretty damn close to it.

That's exactly what we do as well. And now that everyone has gotten used to it, I actually think it works better than whiteboarding (results are saved, you can prepare stuff more easily, ...)

I like technology and good old fashioned chalk on blackboards. It's up to you. Calling people directly is easy to. Texting. @Google docs. So many ways now.

We use zoom + iPad + Apple pen. It works very well. My son attends his tutoring sessions also that way. It works really well.
