And by the way, given the starting point, the US transition so far has been happening faster than it did in either of these countries. Right now you're still within the time window where you can correct course (again, takes a decade), but the speed of change has been frightening
This is new age democrasy, they're all elected people. Trump turns democrasy into dictatorship in just 4 years? Either system is corrupted or citizens don't want to democrasy. But they're all elected in a democratic way.
Yea, when times change for worse, there are always people too late to recognise it and shocked as if this wasn't coming. This happened in Germany in early 30s as well.
The problem is the transition. It is slow process and you cannot tell you are in or not. Even now inside my country we don’t see clearly, because many ppl are interested to keep this pathway up and the supporters of the sytem could tackle down any critics with simple mind tricks.

Sorry François, I think you're well off the mark here. The president of the US doesn't have the power to impose whatever legislation he/she chooses - there are checks and balances built into the system, and since the Democrats control the House, his powers are very much curbed.
I think so, it will probably take more than a decade to recover.
