Every time I have been tempted to buy a Tesla, I stop and ask: is this company run by a selfish twit who would play fast and loose with laws and regulations, endangering my family in the process?https://twitter.com/hen_str/status/1262352897813200896 …

And I'm still waiting for the "full self driving" car that can drive from LA to NYC without intervention (coming by the end of 2017) and the million robotaxis (end of 2019)

I have given up on the idea of full self driving. It is unlikely in the next decade. If it were happen it would need smart road infrastructure. So only for some routes even in a decade.

We've had this discussion in my house as well. My wife likes Teslas (the way they look, that they're electric, the range and performance ...). I can't get past Elon's public behavior.

Range is with regenerative breaking only. So in the city you get close to advertised range. On the freeway if you are trying to keep up with traffic it is just 60% of advertised range. Even DC charging is too slow for intercity trips. EVs make good commuter cars.
