I don't think Elon is really interested in money simply to acquire money. Money as a means though? If you said, Elon wants people back to work to achieve some goal, risking life, then I'd believe that.

I swear he's getting worse. I had a lot of respect for the person he used to be. Or at least the public image he used to present. But it is difficult to maintain respect even for his historic achievements in the face of his progressive lunacy.
