Since people are being pedantic, let's try this again with the curve that is expected to eventually invert and go to 0. As you can see it looks *very* different. "wE aRe PaSt tHe pEaK"pic.twitter.com/tnL74I0PGW

USA (350m people) just exceeded, in cases per capita, the province of Hubei (50m people) which was "sacrificed" to "save China".

I really, really hope that the @IHME_UW models are correct. But the US death data (from NY Times dashboard) are below. Given these data, how can IHME's Ali Mokdad go on FOX News and confidently assert that the worst is behind us? https://foxnews.com/media/coronavirus-model-ihme-worst-is-behind-us … pic.twitter.com/8PdnZ0sQYk

Dear god it is painful to watch the responses to this. We’re past the inflection point. I get it and I think anyone paying attention gets it. Your post was perfectly clear if folks presume you are not an idiot (which is an obviously safe assumption). Stay strong. 🤓

Society at large isn't great at discussing quantities and their derivatives. See pretty much any discussion about debt/deficit as well.

It it a truth universally acknowledged that the derivative of an exponential curve is not in any way whatsoever related to another exponential.

All German worldometer figures are just based on assumptions(RKI quote). German deaths are counted without checking for Corona in the death person (RKI quote). Though deaths are presented as strong over estimates (accord to pathologist Pueschel in Hamburg city by 20 to 30%).

          (2) latest German total daily deaths are from 2018. So no comparison to Swineflu etc possible. Heinsberg study showed 0.37 death rate, 5times lower than JohnHopkins. The German gov provides fake Covid data or no data (RKI even admitts). This the big problem for German politics.
