Philosophy is often mocked by people in tech. But I like philosophy. Everything of value I've ever done falls squarely under the label "philosophy". Philosophy is potent, actionable, and practical like nothing else.

The value of reading philosophy lies not in the names & theories you will be able to recall, but in the way they expand your future thoughts. Just like how the value of learning to code isn't in the toy programs you write in the process, but in the new way of thinking you gained

So it isn't very relevant to point out that philosophers X or Y were "wrong". I'm sure they were; we all are. But perhaps they were interesting. Can your rebuttal teach me as much as their flawed ideas did?

Reminds me of a nice resource. Nature Cards. Its these cards that prompt questions, that are inspired by phenomena in nature. Has helped me a lot in truly getting a different view on whichever thing. https://www.ideo.com/post/nature-cards … e.g.

I've been studying Astrology for some years and it's the same. It gives you tools to build multidimensional thinking, so you can have perspectives built into mental geometry. That way, none of the perspectives can have you to feel contradiction but leverage between different POV

Philosphy is the creation of concepts (thought’s building blocks). It’s not a discipline or something you only find in a book. Philosophy happens wherever there is creative thinking.
